8 Dates Through Feb 25, 2014

ABOUT ABOUT

The DSPCA are delighted to announce details of the inaugural ‘Feline Friendly February’ – an innovative welfare awareness month – which will see an exciting range of events taking place for cats.

Included in the schedule are micro-chipping events, neutering, special offers and a ‘Speed Dating’ event for lovers of cats and kittens who might look to adopt from the DSPCA.

PROPLAN are pleased to announce a series of exclusive special offers this month in the DSPCA Vet Clinic. Meanwhile there will also be a cat behaviourist talk with details to be confirmed in the coming days.

Commenting on the initiative, DSPCA CEO Brian Gillen said: “Over the years DSPCA have held a series of microchipping events for dogs and cats and we are delighted to announce ‘Feline February’ where we are dedicating our services to exclusively micro-chipping and neutering cats.

“By neutering your cat, this will cut down on the huge surge of unwanted kittens born every year, many of which become abandoned and become part of the feral population. The DSPCA are asking anybody who regularly feeds feral cats to use this as an opportunity to neuter these animals.

“Maintaining a healthy population of feral cats is good news for broader society and for the environment and we would urge all cat owners to act responsibly and help manage the cat population.”
